June 15th has come and gone and now what we have all known as SAS 70 audit reports are now retired. At least for the SAS 70 audit terminology. Here after, they are now known as SSAE 16, SOC 1, or even AT 801 audit reports. Although, don’t be surprised if the term SAS 70 lingers for a long, long time….

Expanding to New York City

Linford & Company LLP today announces formal plans to expand to New York City. Dan Zitting, Partner of the firm Linford & Company LLP, is headed out to New York in November to establish the firm’s presence in that market. The firm will decide on the location of the physical office within the next couple of weeks. This expansion will help the firm better serve an increasing number of clients that are based outside the Denver metro area.

Linford & Company Signs New Agreement

On May 13, 2010 Linford & Company entered into an agreement with a company in the healthcare industry to provide the company with SAS 70 audit services. Organizations providing services to regulated industries are increasingly being scrutinized over their internal control environments.

Currently, a SAS 70 examination is the only independent method for service organizations to represent to their clients/customers whether internal controls are placed in operation, suitably designed, and operating effectively (Type II only). The industries that see the greatest regulation at this time are healthcare, financial services, and data center companies providing services in those industries.
